Since 2020
Head of digital teaching at the Medical University of Vienna, development and implementation of modern teaching methods in medical education.
Prof. Dr. Binder completed his medical studies and most of his specialist training at the Medical University of Vienna. As part of his training, he also worked in the USA, including at Loma Linda Hospital and the Huntington Memorial Research Institute in Pasadena, California.
Professional expertise
Prof. Dr. Binder has extensive experience in the field of echocardiography, one of the central imaging procedures in cardiology. Through his many years as head of the echo laboratory, he has acquired extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of (among other things) valvular heart disease, heart failure, ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathies, arrhythmias, congenital heart defects and pericardial diseases.
Clinical activity
Prof. Dr. Binder is actively involved in clinical patient care at the clinic as well as in his practice. His decades of experience in direct patient care, combined with his expertise in echocardiography, make him an internationally recognized specialist in cardiology.
Teaching and training
The training of young colleagues is particularly important to Prof. Dr. Binder. He regularly holds lectures, seminars and workshops at national and international level. He also runs the e-learning platform 123sonography.com, which is used worldwide for training in echocardiography.
